Vice Builds Out Tech Team With Hires From Vevo, Vox Media and New York Times

An impressive array of talent

When Eliot Shepard moved over to Vice in December from Vox Media, he was but the latest in a recent line of high-end tech talent bolstering the company’s Brooklyn ranks. Formerly a vice president of product at Vox and before that, CTO for Curbed and Eater, he is now in charge of Vice’s CMS and API applications as head of internal product.

Other recent tech-team additions include: Ivan Yang, who runs all of Vice’s engineering and was previously director of engineering at Vevo; Erinn Danos, who switched out director of program management duties at The New York Times for the same title at Vice; and Jessica Brown, Vice’s director of user experience, who previously was lead designer with Rent the Runway.

Meanwhile, longtime Vice employee Dan Hockley was recently promoted from web product manager to head of web product.
