US Postal Service Picks the Wrong Statue of Liberty for Stamp Design

New Zealand isn’t the only country who occasionally makes a mistake with a stamp and decides to just live with it; it happens here as well. Late last week, the philatelist magazine, Linn’s Stamp News, discovered that the new “Lady Liberty” stamp, issued recently by the US Postal Service, features an image not of the Statue of Liberty in New York, but its shorter, newer replica in Las Vegas, which stands outside of the New York-New York Hotel and Casino.
