Amazon’s getting into government, at least in terms spreading important government documents to Kindle readers. Amazon announced yesterday that as of this morning, two pertinent government documents–the US budget for fiscal year 2011, and the Economic Report of the President–will be available as free Kindle downloads.
Here’s what Amazon says:
Our customers have always been heavy readers of books about current events and economic issues,” said Russ Grandinetti, Vice President, Kindle Content. “Now they can download these important public government documents in under 60 seconds and read them in the easy and portable format that Kindle affords.
So, current events followers, turn on your Kindle’s wireless and get downloading. It’s an interesting move on Amazon’s part, giving away free documents that lots of people will want. It’s kind of a public service. Kinda.
