Over 10 percent of digital advertising revenue in the United Kingdom is expected to come from social networks this year, rising to more than £1 billion in 2015, reports eMarketer.
UK social network ad spend is forecast to reach £761 million through 2014, representing 10.5 percent of all UK digital ad revenues – a 50 percent gain over the previous 12 months.
Next year this figure is expected to grow by a further 33 percent, passing £1 billion, before reaching £1.275 billion in 2016.
Of note: Facebook accounts for 7.5 percent of all digital ad spending in the UK. Twitter’s share is just 1.3 percent, but is tipped to rise to 2.5 percent by 2016.
