UK iTunes Customers Get BBC Shows

The BBC is going to start selling downloads of its TV shows on the iTunes Store in the UK, the Financial Times reports. According to the article, the two will start off small, offering less than 10 series to see if the model appeals to consumers.

Programs will include shows from the BBC’s archives as well as current series. Episodes of the new series won’t be sold on iTunes until they’re no longer available for free via the BBC’s iPlayer, an online service that gives viewers seven days after broadcast to catch the latest episode of their favorite show.
