Tyndall Report: CBS News Uses DC Bureau More Than NBC and ABC

Screen Shot 2015-01-09 at 12.43.44 PMAccording to the 2014 Tyndall Report, CBS News used its Washington, DC, bureau more than any other broadcast network monitored by the report.

Andrew Tyndall’s annual review found that CBS News recorded the most minutes, at 882, compared to ABC’s 584 and close second NBC’s 855 (Important Note: The Tyndall Report only monitors the weekday nightly newscasts of the three American broadcast television networks: “ABC World News” with David Muir, “CBS Evening News” with Scott Pelley and “NBC Nightly News” with Brian Williams).

The report also mentioned that NBC’s DC-based transportation correspondent, Tom Costello, topped Tyndall’s list of the top 20 most heavily used reporters with 333 minutes recorded — above two other NBC reporters, Richard Engel and Andrea
