John Solomon just announced to TWT staff, the launch of the Times‘ third radio initiative this summer. The group’s newest venture is a joint project with WTEM 980 and ESPN Radio called “The Sports Fix” co-hosted by Thom Loverro.

I’m proud to announce that on Monday we’ll be launching our
third radio initiative this summer, a joint project with WTEM 980/
ESPN radio. Thom Loverro will joining WTEM’s midday sports show
called “The Sports Fix” as a co-host. We’ll be announcing the venture
in a story on tomorrow’s front-page.
This latest partnership is a tribute to the extraordinary
quality of our sports pages under Mark Hartsell and John Taylor and
the undeniable personality, wit and expertise of Thom. It’s also
further validation that we’re transforming ourselves from a print
newspaper into a multimedia, multiplatform news and information
company through smart partnerships. Our latest collaboration with
*the launch in June of our nationally syndicated morning radio
show with Talk Radio Network that has already secured stations in
three dozen markets in just six weeks thanks to the great work of
John and Melanie. In DC, you can now listen to the show on WTNT 570.
