Twitter Now Suggests Hashtags As You Compose A Tweet

As noted by Livefyre’s Lead Social Strategist Nick Cicero, Twitter seems to be offering suggested hashtags as you compose a tweet.

Take a look:

I tried it for myself, and got the same results:

Third party Twitter apps, including Tweetbot, have offered that functionality for a while now, as does the official Twitter mobile app.

But it’s a handy complement in Twitter’s native browser-based environment to its other recently added tweet-composition helpers like color-coded URLs and handles.

Also, a notable difference between the Twitter hashtag suggestions and those provided in the Instagram app are that the former preserve capitalization, while the latter do not.

Is this a feature you’re excited about? Annoyed by? Sound out in the comments.
