Simpson was Twitter’s first Australian employee and had been leading its efforts in the sports sector for the past four years.
Prior to Twitter, he served as head of social media at the Australian Football League and head of digital marketing and fan engagement at Essendon Football Club.
At Unscriptd, Simpson will be responsible for expanding the company’s network of athletes in the Australasia region.
Unscriptd co-founder and head of global sports Ben Crowe said in a release announcing Simpson’s hire:
