Weed, Alcohol, Cocaine, Meth And LSD - Drug Talk On Twitter [STUDY]

Drunk tweeting is a pretty common occurrence on Twitter, with many users prone to musings in the wee hours of the morning after a night on the proverbial sauce. But what about more serious mind-altering substances, such as cocaine and LSD? Is anybody tweeting about that?

Project Know tracks tweets that are openly talking about alcohol, as well as weed, LSD, cocaine and methamphetamine, and the numbers are pretty eye-opening. Here’s a chart showing discourse about these subjects on Twitter going back to January of this year.

And some data that looks at a percentage change from yesterday.

The project also displays what users are saying in real time, which included more than one million tweets about marijuana in the last month alone – almost twice those that were discussing alcohol.
