Twitter’s direct message (DM) system has always been a little bit, well, rubbish – it has few features and also a strange 160-character limit that confuses a lot of newcomers.

Good news! As of yesterday the platform has had a small upgrade, as you can now… wait for it… send and view photos within DMs.

But hold on. You can send and view photos in DMs through Twitter’s mobile apps on iPhone and Android, but you can only view photos in DMs on Twitter.com.
