Twitter Co-Founder Biz Stone Says Nothing is Missing but Measurement

"Maybe we should be measuring Twitter more as a broadcast mechanism."

Despite Twitter’s weak first-quarter results in April and the recent resignation of its COO Ali Rowghani over a “fundamental disagreement” with CEO Dick Costolo, Biz Stone told CNBC that he had faith in the company and its current executive board (Rowghani’s resignation resulted in a 4% rise in Twitter stock).

Stone said there is nothing wrong with Twitter’s model and that users don’t have to register to be happy. “You can see tweets everywhere – you see hashtags on TV, you see tweets on TV, you see tweets everywhere you look,” said Stone, adding, “Maybe we should be measuring Twitter more as a broadcast mechanism.”
