Twitter Appoints New Head of Global Public Policy

Colin Crowell has been named Twitter’s new global head of public policy, a hire that beefs up the company’s Washington D.C. presence. Previously, Crowell was an adviser to the FCC chairman Julius Genachowski, working on broadband and other Internet policies. And he served as an aide to Rep. Ed Markey (D-MA) also working on technology issues. He’ll start his new job mid-September.

Twitter added Adam Sharp, a former C-SPAN EP of digital, in November.

Of course, everyone in government from the White House to members of Congress are using  Twitter and other digital platforms to reach voters with their message.
