Twitter’s 10 Million Followers Club: 24 Members, 54% Are Women And There’s Only One Brand [STATS]

Way back in May 2011 – many, many moons ago in Twitter years – Lady Gaga became the first Twitter user to reach 10 million followers. Since then, she’s been joined by a number of other media luminaries, including such stalwarts as Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Shakira, Barack Obama and Kim Kardashian.

Since our last update, five new users have gained entry into Twitter’s 10 million club: Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Jennifer Lopez and Pink, which brings this very exclusive membership to a total of twenty-four.

Twitter’s most-followed elite continues to skew heavily towards women, notably pop singers.
