TW Looks to Bring Web to TV

Time Warner Cable plans to make it easier for its subscribers to bring online video to their TV sets.

Speaking Friday at the Sanford C. Bernstein Strategic Decisions Conference in New York, chairman and CEO Glenn Britt said his team is working on a wireless cable modem that enables a home networking system to make it “very easy” to get Internet video content onto the TV screen.

Apple’s Apple TV and other services already allow for the transfer of downloaded Internet content to a TV, but deployments of such offerings by cable operators could drive broader consumer reach.
