Fore! How Turner Sports Is Going Social for the 2017 PGA Championship

The golf tournament will be held Aug. 10 through 13 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C.

Turner Sports added some social initiatives to its bag of clubs for covering the 2017 PGA Championship.

The golf tournament will be held Thursday, Aug. 10, through Sunday, Aug. 13, at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, N.C.

Social media elements that will bolster coverage of the tournament on TNT include:

Golden State Warriors swingman and avid golfer Andre Iguodala will serve as a social media correspondent on a range of social platforms during the tournament.

A drone flyover of Quail Hollow Club will be livestreamed via Facebook Live Friday, Aug. 6, at 10 a.m. ET, including graphics with facts about the course and event information.

Facebook Live and Twitter’s Periscope will livestream coverage of practice rounds next Monday through Wednesday, including the PGA Championship Long Drive Competition Tuesday. The coverage will include 360-degree videos from the putting green, as well as live interviews by Amanda Balionis.

The PGA.com Twitter and Facebook accounts will reveal new pin placements for all 18 holes during each morning of the event.

There will be a special live Story on Snapchat on the tournament’s final day, highlighting top moments from Sunday’s play. Snapchat will also offer multiple custom PGA Championship filters for fans.
