Turkish Government Blocks YouTube After Court Overturns Twitter Ban
Just one day after a court overturned Turkey's Twitter ban, the government has blocked YouTube.
Turkish authorities have blocked YouTube just one day after a court ruled that the government could not block Twitter.
The ban comes in response to a leaked recording of a security meeting that was posted to YouTube. According to The Hürriyet Daily News, the leak shows several high-level government officials discussing the tomb of Suleyman Shah.
The tomb is Turkish territory and protected by Turkish troops, but is landlocked by the Manbij district of Syria. A radical Islamist group has reportedly demanded that Turkish troops leave the area.
