Meet Pastor Mark Burns.
The guy has a little experience in moving a crowd. What with being a pastor, president of a faith-based activist TV network and all, dude understands the fine art of rousing a captive audience.
He did just that for GOP frontrunner Donald Trump Monday in Hickory, N.C., in what many consider a most heinous way.
Burns told everyone that Bernie Sanders needs “to meet Jesus.”
Not typically a political copy point at a pep rally, namely a Trump gathering, this is what Burns went with when reaching the gaggle of combed-over acolytes — questioning a Jewish man’s righteous standing with Jesus Christ.
“Bernie Sanders, who doesn’t believe in God,” Burns said (quoted by Politico). “How in the world are we going to let Bernie—I mean really? Listen, Bernie gotta get saved, he gotta meet Jesus. I don’t know, he gotta have a coming to Jesus meeting.”
In fact, Bernie has a large group of his father’s side of the family who were killed during the Holocaust. And then the pastor poked the elder statesman for not being a Democrat. No word on if Burns had anything to say about Hillary. Maybe he was saving that for another sermon.
