Hey film buffs! Can’t make it to New York City for the 10th annual Tribeca Film Festival? Not to worry—YouTube’s got you covered. Starting today and running through May 17 you can check out short films from present and past Tribeca Film Festivals in the YouTube Screening Room.
To get things started off, the first set of five films hit the screening room today. The films include everything from an artsy short about a polar bear (voiced by David Duchovny) that goes to LA in search of stardom to a love letter, a senile landlord and more. The next installment of Tribeca Film Festival films goes up on Friday April 29.
“The YouTube Screening Room is a platform for top films from around the world to find the audiences they deserve.
“These films always appear with the permission and involvement of the filmmakers, so be sure to rate, share and leave comments. This is your chance to not only watch great films from all corners of the globe, but also to converse with the filmmakers behind them.”
Many of the films shown in the YouTube Screening Room are festival films. For instance, earlier this year YouTube screened films from Sundance during the Sundance Film Festival in Utah. Using the screening room in this way offers an amazing opportunity for film lovers all over the world who can’t afford to take the time off work, or the money to go to these film festivals. Oftentimes, it can be near impossible to find film festival shorts online or screening locally, so the YouTube Screening Room opens new doors for filmmakers to get their work shown, as well as for film lovers to watch the films that deserve recognition.
Check out one of the Tribeca films currently being shown in the YouTube Screening room below—‘The Beaufort Diaries’, starring David Duchovny as the voice of the bear. Then, head over to the screening room to see the other films. Which is your favorite Tribeca Film Festival short that is currently streaming?
