Triathlete magazine has hired Julia Beeson Polloreno as editor-in-chief of the magazine, the company announced last night.
Polloreno was previously senior editor of San Diego Magazine and has been competing in triathlons herself since 2000. She starts immediately.

San Diego, CA – March 11, 2010 – The Competitor Group (CGI) today announced that Julia Beeson Polloreno has been appointed Editor-in-Chief of Triathlete, the world’s leading multisport magazine.

Previously senior editor of San Diego Magazine, Julia has an impressive and award-winning track record in publishing. The San Diego Press Club has recognized her with multiple first-place feature writing awards, and she has also received top honors from the Society of Professional Journalists.

A Stanford University graduate, Polloreno takes up her new role effective immediately. She will oversee the monthly magazine’s content and production, while reporting to T.J. Murphy.
