Online video ad network Tremor Media is widening its mobile footprint.
The firm has acquired Transpera, which helps media companies distribute and monetize video on mobile devices, according to a report by Techcrunch.
Transpera works with a slew of major TV companies, including CBS News, Discovery Communications, MSNBC.com, MTV and Travel Channel. It provides both a mobile video delivery platform and sells mobile video ad inventory for many of its partners.
Transpera’s mobile video network should mesh well with Tremor, which boasts a large and growing online video network. Last November, Tremor snatched up Scanscout, a Web video competitor.
