Los Angeles Confidential Publisher Moves to RueLosAngeles.com

It seems only natural that a company called Rue La La would eventually set up shop in LA proper. Even though the “La La” in this firm’s name comes from the “ooh” derivation rather that our Angeleno native land.

The Boston based upscale special offers email subscription website has hired former Los Angeles Confidential publisher Tova Bonem to run RueLosAngeles.com, which officially launched July 12. It’s the latest move for a company that has also recently hung its gilded shingle in New York, Seattle, Philadelphia, and Boston.

Bonem tells Apparel.net that she is working in LA with a staff of three, eager to add to the company’s nationwide subscriber base of four million plus. Unlike other company sites, the offers mailed out to LA members will be good for only 24 hours, rather than 48.

One interesting aspect of the site is that even though membership is free, people who refer others to RueLosAngeles.com will get $10 each time every time a referred friend or colleague makes their first purchase. The stats of Rue La La Nation as a whole are 83% female, media age 35.
