Topps, AMC Launch The Walking Dead: Card Trader on Mobile

The trading card app allows users to collect digital cards relating to the television series The Walking Dead, as well as the spinoff series, Fear the Walking Dead.

Topps partnered with AMC to release The Walking Dead: Card Trader on iOS and Android. The trading card application allows users to collect digital cards relating to television series The Walking Dead, as well as spinoff series Fear the Walking Dead.

In The Walking Dead: Card Trader, users begin with a free pack of five cards and a starting allotment of coins. Coins can be spent on additional card packs in the game’s store. Each pack may contain cards of different rarities.

Users can purchase additional coins with real money, or watch video ads to earn coins for free. Finally, users will receive free coins as they collect every card in specific groups.

As the app’s name suggests, users can trade cards with other users to fill holes in their collection. Specifically, users can post trade offers and requests on the app’s Fan Feed, which can be accepted by other users.

As part of this partnership with AMC, Topps will also release physical trading cards for The Walking Dead in stores this fall.

In a statement, Jeremy Strauser, general manager of Topps Digital, commented:

The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead have passionate and rabid fan bases looking for new and creative ways to stay connected to their favorite shows. Topps is uniquely capable of delivering both physical and digital trading cards that will keep fans engaged and allow them to own a piece of these acclaimed shows.

The Walking Dead: Card Trader is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store and Google Play.
