Snapchat is now More Popular Than Twitter Amongst 18-34 Year-Olds [STUDY] Remember when Snapchat had the audacity to turn down a $3 billion buyout offer from Facebook? Turns out that might have been a very smart play, as the photo-sharing and chat app is now more popular than Twitter amongst the key millennial demographic, and has Instagram up next in its sights. 2. Twitter Removes the Ability to Translate Tweets Twitter has quietly removed Bing Translator integration with its web and mobile apps, which means that tweets are no longer automatically translated. 3. Which meant that almost 40 million Twitter users were never served ads. Twitter has clarified this metric in a new filing, breaking down that 14 percent into three important groups, one of which reveals a startling number who aren’t human. 7. More Marketers use Facebook Than Twitter For Social TV Advertising [STUDY] Twitter has long championed itself as the king of social television but new data has revealed that it risks losing its crown to its great rival, Facebook, with just one in 50 marketers solely using Twitter for social TV ad campaigns. 8. Twitter Paid Less Than $20 for Its First Logo Twitter’s Larry Bird hasn’t always been the happy little blue bird pictured above. His original incarnation was white, and cost little more than a couple of cups of coffee to produce. 9. Social Networking Accounts for (at Least) 28% of all Media Time Spent Online [STUDY] Internet users now spend a daily average of 6.09 hours on online media, and more than one full quarter of all that time that is used by social networking on platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram, reveals a new study. 10. Cross-Channel Commerce: Mobile, Social and the Internet of Things [INFOGRAPHIC] The consumer experience has changed. Instead of one visit to one store, customers now undertake a fragmented journey across a series of channels and devices. Two thirds of online shoppers say they have recently made a purchase that involved multiple channels, and sales involving social networks have seen an incredible 357 percent increase since last year.
