Popular social TV app GetGlue has released their October stats, including a list of the most popular television shows by check-in. How did your favorite shows measure up?
According to the GetGlue statistics, CBS’ The Big Bang Theory took the top spot for the second month in a row with 350,474 check-ins (up from 208,217 in September). Other top ranking shows in October included American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, Dexter, Supernatural and The Vampire Stories—all shows that are pretty perfect for October, as people everywhere were spending the month trying to get spooked for Halloween.
Check out GetGlue’s Fall TV rankings of October’s top shows below and then read on for some more October statistics from GetGlue.
In addition to the top ten October shows, GetGlue also announced that they set a couple of new records this month. October saw an all time high for check-ins at 16.2 million, up from 13.4M in September, and Halloween saw the most check-ins of all time for a single day with 780,000 check-ins. GetGlue also crossed the 75 million check-in mark for 2011 last month.
Some of this rapid growth could be due in part to the new real-time conversation experience that GetGlue launched in the last week of October. Since the new real-time conversations launched, replies and votes on the site are up 50 percent. It’s clear that social TV is on the rise and GetGlue is one of the companies leading the pack. It will be interesting to see how this growth progresses over the coming months as we make our way into 2012.
