Earlier this week we shared SocialGuide’s infographic roundup of the most social TV and movies of 2011. Social TV analytics platform Bluefin Labs has launched their own infographic with data about the year in social TV, so we thought we’d share their findings with you as well. Bluefin ranks the overall top 10 shows and events in 2011, the top 10 series, and the top 10 social TV networks. Check out the infographic below to find out if your favorite programming made the cut.
A spokesperson for Bluefin told me via email that, in order to rank the shows, events and networks, the company averaged the number of comments per all first run episodes. This is done in order to remove the bias obtained when a certain show has more episodes than another, or if it has a large number or reruns.
Like SocialGuide, Bluefin found that the MTV Video Music Awards were the most social TV event of 2011 and they have allotted a section of their infographic to stats about the VMAs, including top words and terms used when talking about the awards, and a gender and sentiment analysis of the social media buzz surrounding the event.
While Jersey Shore made the top 5 on Bluefin’s rankings, they did not place number 1, as in the SocialGuide chart. Rather, The X Factor was on top, followed by Glee, The Voice and then Jersey Shore. NBC clocked in as the most social network, followed by ABC, CBS and FOX.
Check out the full infographic below and let us know what you think. Did your favorite TV shows make Bluefin’s list?
