Crystal Harris may have called off her wedding to Hugh Hefner, but she’s still being featured as Hef’s new bride on the upcoming issue of Playboy.
The mag, which features Harris on the cover with the tag line “America’s Princess: Introducing Mrs. Crystal Hefner,” had already gone to press when the wedding was called off on Tuesday. The issue will hit newsstands Friday, just one day before the nuptials were scheduled to take place.
The wedding was to be filmed by Lifetime as part of a two-hour special called Marrying Hef. The network has already shot a substantial amount of footage of the wedding preparations, and some have speculated that the break-up just was a publicity stunt. But today Lifetime announced that they have cancelled the project.
Harris spoke with Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show radio show this morning about the break-up:
It was mutual between Hef and I. There was no fight, we sat down and we talked about it. We both agreed that it wasn’t the best idea to get married. He was doing this wedding for me because he thought that’s what I wanted.
But why couldn’t Crystal and Hef just have one of those nice sham marriages that are so popular in Hollywood?
Hef’s lifestyle isn’t the most normal lifestyle. This isn’t the lifestyle for me, multiple girls around all the time, the Playboy lifestyle. I don’t know. I just wanted to be true to myself.
