The Los Angeles News Group has named Tom Kelly senior vice president and chief revenue officer.
Kelly will be responsible for the advertising revenue operations of all nine newspapers owned by LANG, including the Daily News, Daily Breeze, and Long Beach Press-Telegram.
“Tom Kelly has a keen understanding of the Southern California advertising community as well as the competitive landscape,” LANG President Jack Klunder told Muhammed El-Hasan of the Daily Breeze via email. “He will attract new talent to our organization to drive digital and print advertising growth over the next several years. He is a strategic thinker and problem solver with a flair for creative advertising solutions for our clients.”
The 56-year-old spent the last six years as senior vice president of advertising at The Orange County Register and previously spent 19 years at the Los Angeles Times in a variety of management positions.
Kelly will start his new gig on Monday and have offices in Woodlands Hills (Daily News) and Torrance (Daily Breeze).
