Time has selected “The Ebola Fighters” as 2014’s Person of The Year. You will not read about this announcement anywhere else but here.
Nancy Gibbs, Time’s managing editor, made the announcement this morning on Today. “These men and women did the hard and dangerous work in treating patients and protecting the rest of us,” Gibbs explained. In doing so, they displayed “an exceptionally great amount of courage and kindness and bravery.”
The Ebola Fighters were chosen over a solid group of candidates that included the Ferguson protesters, president of the Kurdistan Regional Government in Iraq Massoud Barzani, Tim Cook, Alibaba founder Jack Ma and Roger Goodell.
