The TWCable TV for iPad app did not work for me when it was first released because the service was not available in my area at that time. Now, that service is available here, I have not been able to login and try it. The iPad app has received a lukewarm response according to customer ratings in the iTunes App Store. 6513 user have chimed in to give it a 2.5-star average customer rating (out of a possible 5) with 2857 people giving the app a 1-star rating (43.8%). Only 1723 people gave it a 5-star rating (26.45%). Still Time Warner states people seem to love it and announced that a similar app for Android tablets is in development.
We Are Creating A TWCable TV App For Android Tablets
These are the features that will be available in the first release of the Android version of the app:
– Interactive Program Guide (IPG) – a complete IPG experience, with 7 days of program listings including full program description
– Remote Control of STB –the ability to use the Android tablet as a set-top box remote control, choosing a program from the grid guide and tuning the MDN or ODN STB to the selected channel.
– DVR Manager – the ability to remotely program MDN or ODN DVRs with capabilities similar to the current web & mobile Remote DVR Manager product
One interesting question is: Will this app be available for the Amazon Kindle Fire?
