When recruiters speak to candidates, they not only sort out technical abilities and soft skills, they’re looking for specific traits and patterns. According to a post on ERE, here are a few of traits and associated questions to be aware of so you can be fully prepared.
1. Ambition. This trait isn’t only measured by how you would contribute to the organization but it’s also measured by your determination to reach your full potential. Questions pertaining to this trait equate to recruiters asking what you’ll be doing in two or three years. Where do you see yourself 10 years from now?
2. Ongoing education. Recruiters want to assess that you value your self-improvement and strive to continually seek out knowledge. You may be asked about books which have made an impact on your career or perhaps recent articles you’ve read or classes you’ve taken or aspire to take. Other questions require introspective answers such as one of the most surprising things you’ve learned about yourself or how you’ve grown over the past few years.
3. Humility. Sure, you’ll be asked your greatest weakness and manage to turn that into somewhat of a strength but how about being willing to admit your faults? Your ability to apologize, accept criticism and according to the piece, “Give credit where credit is due.”
Interview questions relating to this trait will reflect upon the level of recognition you receive, if you’ve had to alter your work behavior or attitudes for professional reasons, and what you would change about yourself.
