Sustainable Skyscraper Season kicks off with a piece in today’s Times by Robin Pogrebin. At “Green Towers for New York: From Visionary to Vernacular,” 15 skyscrapers prove that their energy efficiency comes at no cost to their dramatic sky-scraping ability. Then head across town to the Urban Center for “Ten Shades of Green,” 10 shining international examples of great design meets green design from the likes of Renzo Piano, Herzog + Partner and Norman Foster. Don’t forget to recycle your programs.

“Green Towers for New York,” through May at the Skyscraper Museum, 39 Battery Place, Battery Park City.

“Ten Shades of Green,” through May 13 at the Urban Center, 457 Madison Avenue between 50th and 51st Streets.

Update: The dear Greg Wessner at The Architectural League just wrote to inform us that “Ten Shades of Green” is actually no longer on show. But, you can buy the book. (2/3/06)
