Nominees for the Los Angeles Press Club National Entertainment Journalism Awards were announced yesterday, and LA media acquitted itself quite nicely.
In particular, Sharon Waxman’s startup entertainment news site “The Wrap” has four of the five nominees for Online News, three of five nominees for Online Feature, and is one of three contenders for Entertainment Site of the year.
Not bad, as Waxman is more than willing to tell you herself.
Meanwhile, former LA Weekly film critic Scott Foundas is a one-man wrecking crew on the print side of the awards equation. He has not one, but two profiles nominated for Best Feature, he’s a candidate for critic of the year, and the Weekly’s annual film issue, of which Foundas, until recently, was the heart and soul, is one of only two nominees for Best Entertainment Publication.
