This was nice to read and we hope to hear more about both the Society of Environmental Graphic Designers and Garry Emery, the two of whom just crossed paths as the former gave the later their highest honor this week, The Fellow Award. It’s the first time the group has handed out the award to a non-American (a phrase which sounds dangerously close to “un-American” so watch out Garry). Emery is from Melbourne and the group awarded him the..er…award for his work all over the world, including such high profile gigs as the 2000 Olympics, the refurbishment of the Sydney Opera House, and his current work creating the signage for that fairly large new skycraper going up the UAB, the Burj Dubai. So here’s to Garry.
