The Sum of ABC’s Three Parts

Speaking of John Green and internal ABC turmoil, the NYO’s Rebecca Dana (a.k.a. a network publicist’s worst nightmare) spends this week’s media column getting inside ABC’s daytime, evening, and late night programming.

The short verdicts: Nightline is doing spectacularly–up over year-to-year numbers and in the prime 25-54 demographic. “Last week, the 11:35 p.m. news program came breathtakingly close to beating The Late Show with David Letterman on CBS,” she adds.

Then network staffers are pissed off about the treatment of Green and the slowness over settling on a new format for the evening news. Might Charlie Gibson take over Bob Woodruff‘s seat until he’s well enough to come back?
