The Sims FreePlay: Travel to the Great Outdoors Via Latest Update

The Great Outdoors update brings a campground, two new hobbies and more to the life simulation game.

EA Mobile has announced the latest major content update for its life simulation game, The Sims FreePlay. The update is called “The Great Outdoors,” and it introduces players to a new campground area, as well as Clay the Park Ranger, who needs help solving a “mystery in the wilderness.”

The Deer Spring Falls campground site is found in the top left corner of Sim Town. The area is available once players have reached level 11. Players need 325,000 Simoleons to build the campground, which takes two days and 18 hours to complete. Once gamers finish the campground, they’ll unlock the “Vacationer’s Guide to the Outdoors” quest, along with access to two new hobbies and a variety of activities.

With this update, Sims can learn the Survivalist hobby, which focuses on things like food gathering, fire creation, biology and navigation. Meanwhile, the new Storyteller hobby allows Sims to tell stories around the campfire. Multiple types of stories are available, including comedy, romance, action and “scary.”

In general, the campground offers access to tents, sleeping bags and more, as well as outdoor activities like canoeing, roasting marshmallows and having a picnic. Sims can even visit the nearby waterfall.

Finally, Sims can take some of this outdoor fun back home with them thanks to sleeping bag and toasting fire pit prizes, which are available for a limited time. A camping lantern and totem pole have also been added to the store for purchase.

The Sims FreePlay is available to download for free on the iTunes App Store, Google Play and Amazon Appstore.
