Spanish-language news and entertainment site SanDiegoRed.com will serve as the Latino arm for the Web site of The San Diego Union-Tribune and its Enlace Latino-focused publication under terms of an advertising agreement announced Tuesday.
SignOnSanDiego.com users will be able to access SanDiegoRed.com via a prominently placed tab, and traffic to Enlace will be redirected to SanDiegoRed.com, with the two sites sharing editorial content, as well as advertising and marketing opportunities.
Union-Tribune vice president of interactive and SignOnSanDiego.com general manager Mike Hodges said:
Latinos make up 31 percent of the population in San Diego County and are an integral part of the fabric of our region. As we advance our mission of improving lives and building a stronger community through information, insight, and ideas, we want to expand our offerings for this important audience, as well as advertisers who are interested in connecting with it, and we couldn’t think of a better partner. The publishers and editorial team behind SanDiegoRed.com are well-respected throughout the Latino community and will augment the efforts and content of our SignOnSanDiego.com and Enlace teams.
SanDiegoRed.com director AÃda Bustos added:
We want SanDiegoRed.com to be the home page for Latinos in our region. By partnering with SignOnSanDiego.com — the region’s No. 1 Web site — we believe we can do it.
