THE ROOT Names Joel Dreyfuss EIC

Joel Dreyfuss, formerly the editor-in-chief of Red Herring, has been named the new managing editor of THE ROOT. Prior to Red Herring, Dreyfuss held senior editorial positions at Fortune Magazine where he was senior editor and Tokyo bureau chief; the editor of PC Magazine, executive editor of Black Enterprise magazine, and editor-in-chief of Urban Box Office. He also served as USA Today‘s New York Bureau Chief, and staff writer at The Washington Post, The AP, The New York Post, and Bloomberg LP.
