At outdoor apparel company Patagonia, employees are encouraged to go surfing during the day (a surf spot called “C Street” is two minutes from HQ), employees who bike, bus or carpool to work are paid $2 each day they don’t drive, and bare feet are OK (as long as you don’t have nasty toenails).
