The New York Times Joins Forces with BuzzFeed

The New York Times and BuzzFeed are joining forces. According to a press release, the Times and BuzzFeed will be collaborating on the upcoming Republican and Democratic conventions.

For the Times, the partnership means expanded video coverage featuring the likes of BuzzFeed’s editor, Ben Smith. Meanwhile, BuzzFeed gets to boost its brand by teaming up with the Times.

“We think BuzzFeed’s energy and keen ear for how political stories play out in the social sphere will be a valuable and interesting contribution to the Times’s video presence,” said Jim Roberts, assistant managing editor of the Times.

This seems to be a great idea, but if we spot any cats — even a single paw — in any of these upcoming videos, we are canceling our Times subscription.
