The Huffington Post Expands Its Global Coverage with Launch of World Section New York, NY, Dec 4 -- The Huffington Post a leading news and opinion site, is launching a World section with top news and opinion from around the globe. The World "vertical" brings HuffPost's signature blend of news, commentary, video and community to coverage of international affairs. The section features analysis from experts on US foreign policy and from bloggers situated around the world. The World section includes content from editorial partners with correspondents in more than 50 countries and is the latest content vertical to be added to The Huffington Post, which continues its expansion as "The Internet Newspaper." Among the bloggers participating in the launch of the vertical: Queen Noor of Jordan; John Kerry, senior Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee; Joseph Nye, Harvard professor who coined the term "soft power"; Haleh Esfandiari, an Iranian-American scholar with the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington; Yoani Sanchez, a Cuban blogger named one of Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People of 2008; Daoud Kuttab, an award-winning Palestinian journalist and former Ferris Professor of Journalism at Princeton University; Francisco Toro, a Venezuelan journalist, political scientist and blogger; and Oleg Kozlovsky, a Russian activist and winner of the 2008 Human Rights First award for his use of the Internet to promote democratic change in his home country.
