The Hobbit Trailer Released

Warner Brothers has released the first trailer for The Hobbit, which is due out next year. This trailer has hot 1.5m views in only 3 days since it was released. What do you think?

PeterJackson, the director of the Lord of the Rings film adaptations, is also directing this film based on JRR Tolkien’s classic novel. Due to the length of the novel, Jackson has already announced that this will be a 2 part series, with the first part due out in December 2012.

Here’s more from the video description: “[The film] follows title character Bilbo Baggins, who is swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor, which was long ago conquered by the dragon Smaug. Approached out of the blue by the wizard Gandalf the Grey, Bilbo finds himself joining a company of thirteen dwarves led by the legendary warrior, Thorin Oakensheild. Their journey will take them into the Wild; through treacherous lands swarming with Goblins and Orcs, deadly Wargs and Giant Spiders, Shapeshifters and Sorcerers.”

On a related note, The Hobbit and The Lord of The Rings trilogy were rather late additions to the eBook market; they were only released in digital form in 2009. In fact, this was long after film adaptations of the novels, which were in theaters in 2001, 2002, and 2003. You can find all four eBooks in most eBookstores.
