Could a law requiring the use of condoms in porn destroy our local economy? An opinion piece on Forbes.com seems to think so:
The porn industry could just pack up and leave California, which would render the law unenforceable and trivial. Since the adult film industry is a significant source of California’s revenue, the state’s budget crisis will likely get even worse. Thousands of people working directly and indirectly for the industry will also lose their jobs.
It is worth noting that the article’s author, Alexandre Padilla, is a research fellow at the Libertarian Reason Foundation. He’d likely also do away with child labor laws, regulation of the market, and your unemployment benefits.
