The Atlantic Adds 2

Sigal Samuel joins as religion editor, Gene Sperling as contributing editor

The Atlantic adds two to its ranks in as many days.

Yesterday, the publication announced the hire of Sigal Samuel as an associate editor covering global religion. Samuel’s hire is part of a plan The Atlantic announced in July to expand its coverage of religion in an international context, bolstered by a two-year, $490,000 grant from the Henry Luce Foundation. With the grant came the intention to add two new positions dedicated to covering religion.
