The Atlantic's November Cover is a Rarity

The Atlantic typically does not feature writers that have articles within the magazine on its cover. It’s such a rare occurrence that we decided to ask about it. Turns out, it has happened only a handful of times in the magazine’s 154 year history. Natalie Raabe, a Spokesperson for The Atlantic, said a few that came to mind were Joan Baez, Mark TwainLillian HellmanConor Cruise O’Brien and Philip Roth.
