Ten Leaving Phoenix Media/Communications Group
Ten employees have been laid off at Phoenix Media/Communications Group, which owns The Boston Phoenix, an alt-weekly, (as well as similar alt-weeklies in Portland, Maine and Providence, Rhode Island) and Boston rock station WFNX-FM.
“To improve our overall performance, the company has made several changes to its sales, finance and management teams,” executive editor Peter Kadzis said in a statement obtained by the Boston Herald.
One of the ousted employees was COO/CFO Richard Gallagher; a consultant is filling that role for now, the Herald reports.
