Technicolor Hires Games Vet Rick Mischel
Technicolor is taking a big step toward expansion into animation and games with the hiring of animation and games veteran Rick Mischel.
He comes on board in the newly created position of executive vp animation and interactive services at Technicolor Content Services.
Mischel’s hire formalizes an animation and interactive services business unit at Technicolor, which combines its Burbank-based games division; a growing animation division also located in Burbank; and its Bangalore, India-based Paprikaas Studio. Technicolor’s animation business in India is located at Paprikaas, and Technicolor recently entered into a strategic alliance with DreamWorks Animation to build an animation facility there.
The combined businesses produce art and animation for the games, television and DVD feature markets.
