TBS’s ‘Very Funny’ Movie Hits Too Close to Home

MV5BMjE2NzE5MDI4NV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwODYxOTYzMQ@@._V1._SX93_SY140_.jpgEach weekend, TBS, Ted Turner’s TV station with the slogan “very funny,” shows the same comedy on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This weekend’s choice: the 2005 Judd Apatow-penned laugh riot Fun With Dick And Jane. It’s not a big surprise, given the writer’s meteoric rise in the Hollywood world, but the subject of the flick gave us pause.

The description, courtesy of IMDB:

“Dick (Jim Carrey) loses his job shortly after getting a promotion that convinced his wife Jane (Tea Leoni) to quit her job. The money is gone, and the house ends up in foreclosure.”

Maybe this wouldn’t have been our No. 1 choice.
