We all have probably been given a gift card at one time or another, and if you are like me, you probably don’t carry the gift cards around with you, so they aren’t handy when you actually go in to a store. You either end up carrying a bunch of cards around with you, or you make a special trip to the store just to use the gift card.
Target has a solution to the problem of carrying gift cards by allowing you to store your gift card information in a web application that you can access on a mobile phone. Because most of us always carry a mobile phone, all you have to do is remember to load up the gift card information and display it when you go to the store.
To get started, go to Target.com using your phone’s web browser. You will have to set up an account for storing your gift card information by providing a phone number and pin. After setting up an account you then enter the information on the gift card in the application to add it to your account. When you are ready to check out at the store, select the gift card that you entered and show the bar code on the display to the cashier. The cashier will scan the bar code that pays for the goods you are buying, and the web application automatically keeps track of how much money is left on the card.
