Susie Ellwood Named VP and GM of 'USA Today'

Her replacement will be named Tuesday

Gannett announced today that Susie Ellwood, the former CEO of its Detroit Media Partnership, has been named vice president and general manager of USA Today. According to a statement, Ellwood will manage day-to-day operations at the newspaper and report to David Hunke, the president and publisher.

USA Today’s editorial and business operations will report to Ellwood, while USA Today Sports Media Group, USA Weekend, and Gannett’s Detroit properties will continue to report to Hunke.

Prior to taking the CEO post at Detroit Media Partnership, Ellwood had been vice president of market development for Gannett's newspaper division.
